Watercolour Explorers
Come to Explorers to push your work to the next level. Each week, during this 12-week course, we curate a theme or subject that will make you try something a bit different.
The hands-off approach allows you to stretch into your own style, exploring possibilities you perhaps wouldn’t try alone. Casually we look at successful artists and talk about their approach. The aim is self-improvement through experiment and discovery.
About the Tutor:
Nic Cowper, a keen landscape artist from an early age, received his first commission for a 3-meter oil tableau of historic scenes of Havant, which is still displayed at the council’s offices and featured on the BBC’s Catalogue of Publicly Owned Art.
Over the next decade, he captured landscapes in watercolours, appreciating their portability. In 2003, Nic returned to oils, painting popular pieces like “Boys in Dune.” A brief period of pastels followed before a decade of oil painting and a rediscovery of watercolours.
Our adult workshops are open to participants aged 18 and over.
