To get us in the mood for The Games we are hosting a day of fun and Olympic frolics. Come and see if you can win a Medal. The medals ceremony takes place
at 2.30pm.
In the Gallery Velodrome:
1. How far can you throw your paper airplane?
You can make a plane here or bring one already made.
2. Egg and spoon race.
3. Plastic duck racing in the courtyard.
4. Wii game - challenge the computer on a time trial event.
5. The one-handed wet bean bag throwing competition.
6. Skittles.
7. Sumo wrestling for under 14’s.
8. Olive crown skimming.
9. Snakes and ladders.
10. Jigsaw puzzle mania - be the fastest puzzler in town.
Craft 4 Kids Arena: Make your own Olive Crown
From 10.30am until 3pm (entry open to 5 to 12 year olds.) As worn by winners of the very first Olympics thousands of years ago.
The Pictures Amphitheatre
Be awestruck as you learn about the local Olympians who did Havant proud. Never heard of Tommy Green or Henry Taylor? Does Richard Burnell or Bert Bushnell light your Olympic flame? Henry Taylor had the rare honour of winning three Olympic Gold Medals at the 1908 London Games: a triumph not repeated by a Great Britain competitor until Sir Chris Hoy in 2008.
Cafe ‘Taverna’
Sample the Greek themed food – delicious salads and yummy cakes from our cafe.
