St George’s day

St George’s day was a Heritage open day, funded by HLF. It was held on 20 April 2013, for which 426 people visited The Spring.

We ran a range of activities to celebrate our patron saint. From children’s crafts to dragon cupcakes to hilarious performances and much much more.

Here are some of the highlights…

The day kicked off with children’s storytime, in which our in-house storyteller Nikki Kidd, thrilled young imaginations with tales of Knights, castles, dragons and Princesses…

A fun filled day of history, heritage and celebration was had by all.

Although there was a slightly awkward moment when a real life George met a real life dragon!
