Conchologist Collection

By Terry Wimbleton

As a Conchologist and Fellow of the Linnaean Society of London Terry has built up an incredible collection of Mollusc shells.  He started collecting over fifty years ago as a keen fourteen year old amateur.  On display will be an aspect of his sea shell collection.  The use of shells by man as food, in religion, as a cloths dye, for money, as jewellery, as a non addictive alternative pain killer to morphine are all part of the fascination for conchologists.Terry is also a member of the Conchological Society of Great Britain and Ireland and is a past president of the British Shell Collectors Club.
