![]() The Friends of the Museum offer a selection of monthly talks on Thursday evenings and, as a local history group, meet on the first Saturday of every month at 10am. Non members are always welcome. The Romans in Havant
Speaker: Hannah Fluck Senior Archaeologist, Hampshire County Council Thursday 28th October, 7.30pm The Anglo-Saxons in Havant The talk will look at the archaeological evidence for Anglo-Saxon activity in the Havant area from the late 6th century AD onwards. The bulk of the material comes from cemeteries, and in particular, the cemetery focussed on the Neolithic long barrow, Bevis’s Grave, on Camp Down, Bedhampton, excavated in the mid 1970s. Shipbuilding for the Royal Navy in Chichester Harbour 1690s - early 1800s Speaker Ian Friel, former Curator of Chichester Museum Non-members £2, FREE to Friends of Havant Museum Friends of Havant Museum Local History Group meets monthly from 10am in the Resource Room at the Museum: Sept 4th Oct 2nd Nov 6th Dec 4th All members of the Friends are welcome. Membership forms for the Friends of Havant Museum are available from The Spring Box Office. To become a member of the Friends the prices per year are £6 for an individual and £10 for a couple.
