Friends of the Museum

The Friends of the Museum offer a selection of monthly talks on Thursday evenings and, as a local history group, meet on the first Saturday of every month at 10am.  Non members are always welcome.
 The Romans in Havant

Speaker: Hannah Fluck Senior Archaeologist, Hampshire County Council

 The Anglo-Saxons in Havant

The talk will look at the archaeological evidence for Anglo-Saxon activity in the Havant area from the late 6th century AD onwards. The bulk of the material comes from cemeteries, and in particular, the cemetery focussed on the Neolithic long barrow, Bevis’s Grave, on Camp Down, Bedhampton, excavated in the mid 1970s.
