Coronation Memories

Rita’s scrap books include the Coronation of King
George VI and Prince Philip receiving the Freedom
of the City of London. Also some personal memories,
like her time in the WRNS and her Marine Officer
husband carrying the Queen’s colours at post-war
ceremonies. As a service wife Rita led a nomadic
existence and sadly many of her mementoes have
been lost.
