Paul Atterbury by railway tunnel

BBC1 Antiques Roadshow’s very own Paul Atterbury.

Paul is now one of Britain’s best known railway writers. Having successfully published over 12 large, beautifully illustrated railway books, this intimate talk describes an avid enthusiasm for lost railways, rail history, the excitement of embarking on a new journey and his life-long love affair with railway life. Paul discusses his experiences of Great Train journeys such as travelling by rail across Europe as a student, and parts of the USA in the 1970s.

He admits that since appearing on the Antiques Roadshow since 1990, with each show he’s ‘always hoping to discover railway material, such as posters, documents, photographs, and model trains or locomotive name plates.’ Anything to fuel his love of the railway!

This fascinating, intimate talk which encompasses a childhood passion for trainspotting and a life-long appetite for train travel, gives a personal insight into a Life with Trains.
